There was a time when the commute to work would involve wasted hours sat in traffic listening to radio stations playing the same five music tracks and DJ’s telling you things you already know, every 5 minutes. Yes, I know traffic is bad, I’ve been sat in it for hours!
Then, one morning I had a light bulb moment. This is valuable time real estate, the 1 hour and 20 minutes I spend in traffic everyday. I decided that this was the perfect time to educate myself and keep my brain active with audiobooks.
During the last twelve months I’ve listened to hundreds of hours of audiobooks on my daily commute. It’s hours that have helped develop my skills as a business owner and expand my business knowledge base. A part from concentrating on driving, there are no other distractions (i.e. email, phone calls, meetings etc). You’re listening and taking everything in.
I genuinely look forward to my journey to and from work.
I’m learning so much as successful entrepreneurs share their experiences, it is helping inspire (and motivate) my own actions as a business owner.
I wanted to share the audiobooks I’ve been listening to over the last twelve months or so and encourage others to do the same. I can highly recommend any of the books I’ve listed below for any entrepreneurs.
Do More Faster by Brad Feld and David Cohen
Startup CEO: A Field Guide by Matt Blumberg
The Magic of Thinking Big by David J Schwartz
Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography by Walter Isaacson
Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh
